Great Nortwestern Pacific

This free-lanced N-Scale railroad resides in the owner’s front parlor room (you might call in a living room!) and affords lots of space to maximize the chief benefit of N railroading.  The layout is a continuing effort at getting things “just so”, and is in a regular rotation of area operators (the Run-All-Day Retired Boyz) who regularly participate in train therapy once a week.

The trains are controlled by Digitrax throttles and traffic movement is directed by computer manifests generated in real-time using JMRI OpsPro.  Dispatching is verbal and the pace is very relaxed.

Each industrial area has its own local turn plus some have a dedicated switcher.  These areas are also  supplied new traffic using road peddlers (or sweepers) to exchange some of the cars.  The train line-up is varied and there are operating positions for most interests.
