Santa Fe Peavine Subdivision

The ATSF Peavine Division is an HO scale 16 by 22 foot layout configured along two walls and two peninsulas. The railroad loosely models the Phoenix to Winslow district of the Santa Fe. Starting in staging at Phoenix, the modeled towns are Ennis, Drake with the branch line to Clarkdale, East and West Flagstaff, and Winslow staging.

The railroad features lots of switching, which is the main operating focus of the layout The 28 industries receive loaded or empty cars through use of Lee Nicholas’s Flexbill system, which is used to build manifests for the trains. The majority of the loads are grain, logs, finished wood products, cement, coal, and sugar.

Roles for operators include engineers for both locals and branch-line trains, yardmasters, switchmen, and a dispatcher. Train control is NCE.
